6 Things That Happen Around This Time Every Year, and My January Anticipations

So here’s the thing: there’s this small bookworm-world-scale routine going on every end of the year. It’s one big pattern you probably noticed.

1. Bookworms freaking out left and right

Because obviously, who wouldn’t freak out ? Tomorrow’s 2018 ! Which is, like, crazy. All the books unread this year, all the goals promised and pledged, the 2017 yearly readathons gooooone with the wind, and all the BOOKS COMING next year and everything is simply WHOOSHING by so fast you can almost see the dust the year left you in.

2. Readathons being announced for the new year

All those readathons being annouced in the beginning of the year. And of course, if you’re like me, you can’t choose which one to participate in, so you simply pick them all up in your arms and walk around telling them ‘shhhh’ like they’re your 21 babies crying for attention at the same time 😂

3. Wrap-Ups

Everyone’s wrapping their entire lives at the end of the year and, again, if you’re like me, you don’t even know HOW to wrap-up because of the aforementioned 21 crying babies you picked up one year ago.

4. A Sudden Explosion of the TBR

You miiight experience something like this if you make the mistake of taking a peek at booktube around this time and seeing all the ‘Best books of 2017’ which will make you want to read them all RIGHT now because who wouldn’t want to read la crème de la crème ?

5. The oldest joke in the book

I’m SURE you know what I’m talking about. If not, then better ask me before midnight of December 31st or it’ll have taken you a whole year to figure it out 😂 sorry i was probably born with an incapacity to be funny

6. And the one question that’s always asked

SIMPLY, what do I read next ? This is probably a result of routine number 4, and I don’t know if I’m the only one, but I still have no idea what to put on my January TBR.The thing is, if I ask for help, I’ll get even more recommendations, which defeats the whole purpose of help.

*sigh*
