I was nominated by the amazing Foxes and Fairytales ! I recommend you go check out her blog, you won’t regret it 💙 Her questions made me want to answer them quite badly xD

  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo on your post and/or on your blog.

I’m quite the new blogger, so I don’t know which of the blogs I have in mind do these kind of posts, nor do I know who is too busy to make one and who isn’t ! But if I was to nominate at least someone, I’d nominate Azia @ The Uncharted Word ! If you want to answer these questions, consider yourself nominated !

Here goes nothing !

1. What can’t you stop yourself buying (other than books)?

*sigh* Bookmarks. And mugs. I keep telling myself I have way too many and that buying more will only make me use each one less. But I end up not listening to the voice of reason and buying more and more U.U I shouldn’t be buying mugs because I don’t really need them; I’m not a coffee drinker, or a tea drinker or anything. I don’t even eat while reading. At home the times when we don’t have snacks are more than the ones when we do, and I’m totally saving every bent penny for books *sigh*

2. What’s your favourite fairy tale or mythological story?

Tough question xD I’ve never really stopped to choose 😂 I love the story of Icarus, I’m not sure why. I’m a fan of anything having to do with wind; birds, wings, feathers, flying, the sky. Ships too. There’s something especially tragic about finally getting wings, and soaring in the sky only to get burned by your own ambition and quite literally crash and burn. On the way to drowning of course. Ouch. If there was a retelling of the story of Icarus, I’d love to read it.

3. Do you have a favourite time period to read about? What is it?

Oh boy do I love reading about WWI 😂 WWII too, but we need more stories around WWI. The Wonder Woman movie, Private Peaceful, All the Light We Cannot See, Code Name Verity, GIMME MOAR

4. What’s your favourite TV show, either ended or still running?

I’m really not sure between the Mentalist, Merlin or Hawaii Five-O. I think it’d be Merlin. Or the Mentalist. UGH I’M NOT SURE SOMEONE HALP

5. What’s your favourite book category – MG, YA, adult etc.

*Does a little dance* YA forever, oh yeah ~ I don’t read much Middle Grade. YA is my one and only love 💙

6. Which is your favourite book that isn’t from the above category?

Oh, wow. I’d say Dark Matter by Blake Crouch for an english favorite thriller, and Puzzle by Franck Thilliez for a french one. I eat french thrillers as dinners. Sorry not sorry for being lame as a potato comedian imposter. As in, a potato who is posing as a comedian, but is actually an imposter. Good luck wrapping your mind around that 😂

7. What is your favourite song right now?

Uh… You see, there’s this fanmade composition of a song in The Name of the Wind. One of the hardest to play, as said in the book. It is called The Lay of Sir Savien Traliard, and it is composed of two harmonies simultaneously played, which is why it takes incredible talent to play on a lute. I’ll let you hear it for yourself. The recording quality isn’t topnotch, but I loved it so much nonetheless. I’ll let you hear for yourself.

8. How did your blog get its name?

I for some reason did an evaluation of myself, calculated the x’s and the y’s and concluded that I was some sort of library monster. I’m an introvert. I spend hours in the bookstore and am like a mother hen about my own library. If you’re about to get a book I loved and we’re in the same bookstore, I’m more likely to stalk you than speak a word to socialize. I read creepy books and watch horror book-to-movie adaptations. Try to rephrase that a bit and you’ll make me sound like a creature of the night 😂

9. Are there any hyped/popular books you didn’t like?

Plenty, plenty. Thirteen Reasons Why, Uglies, The Shining are what comes to mind right away. I DNFed Uglies and The Shining, and don’t plan on gettint back to them unless I have zilch zero nothing else, or if I have a super-sudden change of heart.

10. Which books haven’t you finished? Are there any you totally mean to get back to?

I can’t even count how many books I DNFed in my life 😂 So many XD Of course there are some I plan on getting back to ! A Clash of Kings for once 😂 Frost like Night, Jane Eyre, Dracula, the Valley of Fear and a few more. Not hundreds, but a lot. I’d much rather finish a book than DNF it !

11. Which movie has done a book justice?

I can only think of Catching Fire ! No movie is exact to the book, but the Hunger Games movies have been the most loyal book-to-movie adaptations I’ve ever seen ! I haven’t seen everything, of course, far from it, but of the ones I have seen, these are the best in my opinion !

That concludes the 11 questions ! They were SO fun to answer ! Here’re mine !

1. What book do you associate with your favorite music genre ?
2. Have you readathoned before ? If yes, what readathons did you participate in ? If not, any ones that caught your eye ?
3. What is your favorite book blog post; discussions, wrap ups, readathons, reviews, book tags,…?
4. What recently released book do you think isn’t worth the hype around it ?
5. If you could make a backlist book have hype again as if it was brand new, which book would you pick ?
6. Which new releases are you most excited to read ?
7. If you had to reread one book for the rest of your life, what would it be ?
8. If you could ask one book-related question to your favorite author and have it answered, no matter what it might be ( release date, spoiler for the next book in the series,…) what would it be ?
9. What do you think might be your favorite fictional character’s favorite color ?
10. If you could delete one trope from existence in books, what would it be ?
11. What is something you love in a book cover ?

Do you have the same buying problems as I do ? What do you eat/drink while reading ? What are some of your favorite book-to-movie adaptations ?

  1. YA is my one and only love tooooooo ❤ IT'S FABULOUS and no one can tell me otherwise. And oh yes, The Hunger Games movies have definitely been good adaptations!! Why can't more movies do books justice (*cough* The Lightning Thief *cough* I'm not sure if you've watched it but it is horrible, horrible to the book. *cries*) Loved reading your answers for these! ❤

    1. OMGGG I totally thought of the Percy Jackson movies and didn’t want to even get into how awful of a book adaptation they were !! The Lightning Thief is like, 20% book, 80% some other stuff. And the sea of monsters movie is, like, 2% book and 98% weirdness 😂
