Time for Confessions, Heart Eyes and Quite a Bit of Screaming: Book Boyfriends

*sigh* Hello, you wonderful person 😍 It’s time for some serious swooning, quite a (big) bit of SCREAMING and a bowl of ‘😍’ cereals because this week’s Top Ten Tuesday just CALLS to me ♥ It’s a fact that authors are the best at creating characters that will rip hearts to tiny little pieces, incinerate them and scatter the ashes everywhere.
Let’s start, for goodness’ sake, and get it over with *sniff*

10. Chaol from Throne of Glass

What can I say ? What CAN someone say about Chaol ? Shhhh, no spoilers though, I haven’t read Empire of Storms yet. I’m gonna reread the series. Also, I admit it’s not fair I put him here because It’s been years since I read the series and I kinda forgot where he fits on my crush spectrum, but I know he’s there ❤

9. Finnick from The Hunger Games

May we take a moment to sob properly ? FINNIIICKKK !!! *gets so worked up that she unlocks her secret power and gets absorbed in the book*

8. Darrow from Red Rising
*sings on the tune of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony* Daaaarrow Daaarrow Daarrow Darrow Darrow Darrow Daaaaaaaa-RRoooooow ~ Again, what can I say, all along the series I was crushing hard on Darrow. Also Sevro. A lot. A whole lot.

7. Kvothe from The Name of the Wind
I just… No. Kvothe is love, Kvothe is life. Kvothe is smarts and sass and talent and everything. But not Mary-Sue, OH nope. I thought that’d be the case before I read the book, but it SO wasn’t.

6. Sevro from Red Rising
*sigh* Sevro, my precious tiny giant ♥

5. Rhysand from ACOTAR
He might be a prick most of the time, but that is exactly why I love him 😂

4. Maven from Red Queen
I have this habit of absolutely adoring characters who aren’t MCs (side characters ? this weirdly feels like I’m saying side dish, but don’t go, I don’t eat people, I swear !) but OMG MAVEEEN !!! *screams*

3. Kaz Brekker from Six of Crows
*flails around* Need I say anything ???

2. August Flynn from This Savage Song
Aaaaaaaahhhhh *sigh* August my love. His image is just… beautiful in my head.

1. Minho from The Maze Runner
Whenever I feel weak I remember how brave and how strong Minho is. To him fighting for your piece of life is the obvious choice. All through the series you see how he’s the pillar that keeps the main trio together, he is the glue. You can always rely on him for a healthy dose of sarcasm, Glader-style foul language and a strong presence who’s got your back no matter what 💙

Please tell me you share some of my views (Dooon’t leave me alooone ~ Falling in the Black, anyone ?) *puppy eyes*
What are YOUR best bookish crushes ❤ ? What’s youe favorite book from this list ? Are any on your TBR ? And if you have a pet, please tell them hi from me 😂💙 (obvs don’t forget to tell me if they twitched an ear or a tail or bobbed their head and how, I’d seriously be shrieking ‘CUUUTE!!’ right here. You can even hear me if you take your head out the window and listen real hard )

  1. Rhysand and Kaz, definitely! And to be annoyingly “ordinary”, JACE. Always Jace.

I really need to read The Name of The Wind someday. I’ve seen Kvothe pop up on multiple places now and I’m just going “Ehh, who?”
I own the books. I think. Two of them? I thought? Ugh. Too many books to read..

      1. You can do iiiit!

I tend to read series easier though. Simply because you can’t be bothered with cliffhangers if you have all the books at the ready, haha. [Although sometimes I grow sick of certain characters and start neglecting series and then.. shit happens and I have a huge pile of sequels.. Ugh.]

      2. I don’t mind cliffhangers.. As long as I get to read the sequel.. Immediately.. Why do I feel like I’ll be torturing myself? :’) Butchering our own hearts; that’s what we do! We can’t even control ourselves since we always want to keep reading. xD

  2. Kaz ❤ what a darling. He may act all tough but deep down he's a softie. Sure, his methods are a bit unconventional when it comes to showing affection, but his heart is in the right place.

  3. August Flynn ❤ Only reason he isn't on my list is that I haven't managed to read Our Dark Duet yet 😦

      1. I am so eager to get my hands on it, but I couldn’t find a copy that was the same edition as my copy of This Savage Song 😦 so I’m waiting for it to come from overseas!

      2. I gave up on matching my editions long ago 😂 The important part is that I have the book 😂 It’s certainly really nice to have them match, but it’s almost like publishers do it on purpose to sabotage our shelvies xD

  4. YES! OMG someone who loves Chaol too ❤ ❤ That is amazing!! T_T Everyone just prefers Rowan and I'm like "UGH WHYYYY"
Anyway, I'm sorry for this burst of emotion but I just have a lot of feelings for Chaol. And I haven't read EoS yet either but I think I'll be super disappointed. Thankfully, we have Tower of Dawn! (Maybe. Who knows what Maas has done to him in it?)
I also loved Minho and thought his movie portrayal was just so meh in comparison? Like, where was the badass Minho? All I kept seeing was this baby faced boy with the occasional "brave" attitude. That was no Minho… Sigh.
    Amazing post, Daan! 🙂
